An enthusiastic group of students from the Nottingham Emmanuel Citizens team took part earlier this month in the Citizen’s Assembly at the Albert Hall. Students heard about the work of Citizens in collaboration with partner organisations to fight against modern slavery, air pollution, hate crime and homelessness. Our students took to the stage to be part of the Hate Crime presentation as they have taken such a key role in investigating hate crime from a student perspective and we are very proud of their work and contribution.
Jessica who was part of the team said, “The Citizens event was very good because we saw lots of other school’s opinions on the hate crime survey. The event impacted me because we saw how lots of people in our Nottingham schools and community are victims of hate crime which is very upsetting.”
