Sixth Form Students Lead Cotgrave Primary School Assembly

March 24th 2015

Tuesday 24th March, Sheerena, Aya, Emmie, Evie and Sarah-Jane all planned and delivered an act of worship to Cotgrave CofE School. They were looking at how the cross is used in worship in Africa as part of the schools theme A–Cross the world.

The girls focused their worship around John 3:16, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His Son, Jesus. That whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life.’ After sharing what worship is like in Dutch Komenda, Ghana, the girls explained that no matter where you are in the world, Jesus died on the cross so that everyone might have a personal relationship with Him.

They involved the students by having them dress in Ghanaian clothing and acting out how the cross ‘bridges’ the gap between God and mankind. The students loved their morning collective worship and Mr Moxham, the head teacher, is looking forward to many more joint ventures between both school. Well done girls on a great job and thank you for all of your time and effort!
