At Key Stage 3, students learn a variety of approaches to problem-solve and risk-take in various media and techniques. As well as improving artistic skills, we encourage students to think about conceptual themes. Students explore and discover their own 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional outcomes by interpreting and analysing the work of others as a possible starting point.
We encourage individual, peer and group work, and emphasise independent learning through termly homework projects. Some topics covered range from the formal portrait to historical art movements; to manipulating surfaces and textures, to creating arts and crafts with reference to Traidcraft.
At Key Stage 4 we offer GCSE Art and BTEC First Diploma.
At Key Stage 5 we offer A-level Art and Design and A-level Photography.
