The Post 16 Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is permanently staffed by Mrs Ashley, a Chartered Librarian, providing advice, training and support to students undertaking independent study.
Students are able to develop their research abilities and acquire skills that will enable them to make a smooth transition into Higher Education. Guidance and support is also available as students navigate the UCAS process to make successful university and HE course choices.
Alternatively they are encouraged to consider gap year placements or are referred to our Connexions Advisor for employment or apprenticeship guidance should they not wish to continue into Higher Education.

Library Behaviour Guidelines
The Post 16 LRC is a privileged area and can only be used by Post 16 students and staff.
It is run on similar lines to a university library to familiarise you with studying at a higher level and to recognise your more mature attitude to studying. It is intended as a quiet study area to enable students to continue with independent study outside lessons with support available. Please respect the fact that it is a quiet area for study.
Work tables are available in the Post 16 common room for group work that needs discussion or practices for presentations.
Mobile phones should be switched OFF or to SILENT before entering the Post 16 LRC.
You are welcome to listen to MP3 players whilst studying provided you are using headphones and do not disturb other students. However, do bear in mind that the most effective way to study is without distractions.
