On Friday 2 February, a number of Year 12 students visited the University of Birmingham as part of the ‘Futures’ Programme. Students firstly attended a session on choosing a competitive course, where they had the opportunity to ask current students questions and were then taken on a campus tour. This was followed by a student finance and budgeting exercise and finally they attended a sample lecture entitled ‘Finding normality in mental illness.’
Yahkemah, a Year 12 student at The Nottingham Emmanuel Sixth Form, said ‘Futures has helped me learn so much about life at university and the UCAS application process. It has also helped me to realise how straightforward it is to apply to a Russell Group University.’
