Happening History
Monday was an exciting day for the History department as ‘Happening History’ came to visit bringing Tommy, a World War One solider and his nurse to show us the horrors soldiers had to deal with in the Trenches on the Western Front. Year 8 and 9 students heard about how the British Army dealt with issues from fleas to mud to shrapnel wounds. Students were also able to get their hands on a range of artefacts from the Trenches such as amputation kits and a stretcher.
