Year 9 students had  the opportunity to move out of the classroom for a day and work together on discover ‘Who I Am’. The course has a focus of self development and helps them prepare for the future. It helps them break negative cycles, empathise with their peers and inspires them to become the best version of themselves. This is all very relevant as we start to look at the options process and pathways for the future. In an emotionally charged presentation, students shared experiences and spoke openly about how past experiences had shaped their lives. Workshops and tasks then built up techniques and ways to help students consider their image now and helped them to consider what the future could hold for them. The following day, Year 11 students worked together in a similar programme entitled ‘The Final Push’, helping to prepare themselves for their summer GCSE exams.

Josh, Year 11 said “The day was very emotional and impacted every person in the room, showing them what we needed to do as a year group to go about getting good GCSE’s. It gave us the right frame of mind to show respect to each other and not to be afraid of the challenges ahead”
