Two chefs from the Navy came into Emmanuel today to work with our year 9 and 10 Food students. The classes were set the challenge to design, make and present a place of food in 2 hours, using the ingredients that were available in the classroom. The students worked extremely well together and enjoyed interacting with the chefs. High skills were shown throughout both year groups, including making homemade custard, stuffed chicken, roti bread and marinating.
The chefs said that the students were “the best year 9 and 10 classes they have ever seen. The standard of food was fantastic, you can tell they’ve been taught well. We asked for 1 dish and every group went above and beyond and produced more.”
The pictures attached demonstrate the quality of the dishes produced (I do have more but they have students in and would need to check permission slips):
The students all said what an amazing experience if was and have already asked me to book them again!
