Positive Mental Health

Below is a list of support services that has been collated for you by the Children’s Public Health 0-19 Nursing Service. The service is available all year round to offer advice and support to children/young people aged up to 19 years old, If you would like to speak to a member of the team please contact us on  01158836322.

The services below can provide support with your mental and emotional health and wellbeing during this difficult time.  School closure, social distancing or self-isolation can mean a sudden loss of routine and social networks which are crucial to maintaining positive mental health and this period of time may have left some of you needing support. The list of services has many useful online support resources where you could find information, seek reassurance and access online counselling support or chat. The child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) is a nationwide service which provides assessment and treatment of a range of mental health conditions; they are specialists in the care of children and young people and work in partnership with families and other agencies to deliver their service.

Child Line

Child line is a national organisation which provides confidential advice to children and young people, there is online advice and information, one to one online and telephone counselling sessions and message boards which children and young people can access confidentially.

This is available nationwide, online counselling which is offered to all children and young people aged between 10 years and 25 years old. Young people aged 11 and over can self-refer into the service and those aged 10 are referred via professions.

Much like to the service by Child Line the NSPCC is a national service which provides online information and advice, the website also directs children and young children with the contact number should they wish to speak to an advisor.
